ecoRobotix won the first “Umweltpreis der Wirtschaft”

On 23 october, ecoRobotix won the first edition of the 2018 Environmental Prize for the Economy (Umweltpreis der Wirtschaft) in Lucerne, in a magnificent setting on Lake Lucerne.

Interview with Aurélien, CEO of ecoRobotix:

What does this price mean to you?

This award means a lot to us! When we started this project, our first motivation was to use technology for the good of nature. As my associate comes from a family of farmers, it is naturally that we have focused on ways to reduce the environmental impact of agriculture. This award shows us that we are on the right track, it is a great recognition.

What is the vision for your company?

Just this morning, I participated in an international agricultural conference organised under the patronage of the Federal Councillor for Economic Affairs, Johann Schneider-Ammann. I was able to show the present people what agriculture could look like in 10 years’ time. In our opinion, robots will be widely used in the agricultural world, making it more sustainable. That is our vision. But robots will not replace humans. The farmer will remain key. They will simply do the job that does not require much intelligence.

The entire ecoRobotix team thanks the Swiss Foundation for the Environment and the “Go for Impact” association for this wonderful recognition.

From next year, the prize will be awarded at a conference of the Swiss Economic Forum.
