HOW DOES IT WORK?

The ecoRobotix™ scouting robot is a platform supporting different sensors for rapid plant phenotyping on the field. It operates fully autonomously, without any driver or operator, and is powered entirely by solar energy.
Thanks to GPS RTK positioning, the robot orients itself and navigates precisely within user defined parcels. Its path is programmable and a large number of mission trajectories can be stored on the machine or on the ecoRobotix servers.
A smartphone application is available for local robot control and to load the appropriate missions. During operation, the robot status can be monitored remotely using the desktop & smartphone applications.
Due to its generous accommodation space and power supply, the robot can interface with various types of sensors from different manufacturers. Sensors can also be mounted on a height adjustable payload arm at the front of the robot suitable for different crop heights.
The speed of the robot can be adapted along defined path segments as needed by the sensor(s) which are mounted. The robot can also provide commands to start and end sensor recording and feed its RTK GPS position information to the sensor.
